I like the idea of first aid. After a battle the several figures stop for a bit to bind wounds. This is a great way to mitigate damage, especially without a healbot cleric hanging around. I dislike healbot clerics. They are a waste of a perfectly good holy man.

In the Realm I am busy thinking up, there are no traditional clerics or wizards. Cleric is not an adventuring class. Churchmen are much like they were in the real-world Middle Ages. No one is waiting to channel holy power into your boo boos. So now bandages becomes way more important.
This is how I do it.
Bandages. Cost: 5 GP Wt: 10cn. After a character takes Hit Point damage, he may apply bandages to his wounds. This heals 1 Hit Point of damage. It stops any ongoing bleeding affect such as a blade of wounding. Applying fresh bandages overnight heals an additional 1 Hit Point damage. Bandage healing does not stack with any other kind of healing, and only one application is allowed per instance of Hit Point damage.
After using bandages, roll 1d6. On a roll of 1, the container of bandages has been exhausted. Characters may carry many containers if they wish.
I think this is a cool way to add a tiny amount of healing to the game. But maybe repairing 1 hit point per fight is not enough for you. If so, you need a herbalist to make a medicated healer's kit.
Medicated Healers' Kit. 25 GP Wt: 20cn, By providing medicated poultices and compresses and powdery potions to stave off pain, a man can heal much faster than normal. Applying this kind of treatment heals up to 3 Hit Points (but no more than that which brings the man to his maximum hits.) It stops any ongoing bleeding affect such as a blade of wounding. Applying bandages overnight heals an additional 1 Hit Point damage, not the full 3. Bandage healing does not stack with any other kind of healing, and only one application is allowed per instance of Hit Point damage.
After using the medicated healer's kit, roll 1d6. On a roll of 1 or 2, the kit has been exhausted. Characters may carry many kits they wish.
