800 years ago as Men
reckon time, an expeditionary force was set Eastward from the Elf kingdom of
Tal-Ornafel to establish a new trade road with the Dwarfs of Korim and the ones
under the Dragonspine Mountains. As a mark of rulership, the elf Queen
Glorandal granted to her new Duke, the Esteemed Galanthar Orilian a sceptre of
fine platinum with sapphire inlays. By itself it was worth a fortune but
it was also enchanted to slay the lizard-men the Elfs expected to displace, as
well as aid in the casting of magical spells.
Galanthar sired 30 boy
children in his time in the east, a great many for anyone including an Elf.
Many squabbled among themselves and some openly warred against one another.
Just which of his sons ended up with the Rod is anyone's guess.
